It was a shock to see Hazlitt’s featured on Anthony Bourdain’s trip to London, but we can take a step back and see why. The hotel is in an old Victorian era house in Soho. The warm living room is still there, as are the paintings of the original occupants, and our room was a short hike up three narrow flights of stairs. With its own vestibule, pulley toilet, and claw-footed bathtub, it would have been easy to imagine we’d found a wormhole. Similarly, Hazlitt’s is firmly lodging only – no room service or substantial mini bar was noted, but with Soho at your feet your best bet for food is just a minute in front of you.
