Nothing revs us like the opening of a new hotel and our anticipation of Mr. C Beverly Hills was not disappointed. Located at the intersection of Pico and Beverlywil in a section of LA agreed upon as Beverlywood, Mr. C stands out like a beacon of restrained luxury. The first LA venture from the famed Cipriani restaurant group, a glance at the design and furniture selection confirms the same precision and focus on ingredients that Cipriani is known for. We love the deep leather couches and studio lamp lighting in the lobby, along with the spacious lounge and casual bar (finally! a bar with comfortable chairs that have armrests!) and a breezy indoor/outdoor flow with ample patio seating.
We stopped in for a launch party on the 12th floor, a gorgeous space featuring near-360 degree views and a dramatic balcony along the perimeter. As plentiful as the party’s white peach bellinis were the views – drop dead, extending from Century City to Hollywood and Downtown. Charged with Los Angeles from floor-to-ceiling, the space reminded us of our favorite 360 lounge, formerly in the penthouse of the CNN building on Sunset Blvd.
It’s rare that a hotel has such thorough overlap of both mid-century Modernism and Regency style, but the result is flawless. If you haven’t already, you’ll want to make this your next move.
