The iconic rooftop of the Standard Downtown has been host to many nights of raucous, rock’n’roll fueled parties and many afternoons of pool splashing, champagne tippling, and dance floor riots. We love everything about this Standard, from its modular lobby seating and Standard Tuning evenings (1st Sunday of the month), to its strategic vantage point in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. We remember sultry summer nights DJing rock’n’roll here, and turning in our drink tickets for “Champagne, please.”
Movies are projected onto the white façade of the building next door, and fans of irony will appreciate the hard-working visitors to the gym right below. Both brightly lit and open late, sweaty patrons of the gym and alcohol-fueled patrons of the rooftop meet in a gaze of mutual horror: “Do you know how ridiculous you look right now?”
