The original Hotel Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District of New York (known for its extremely bold pulley system of full animal carcasses) was the beginning of a movement. Never before had the heels of so many Sex and the City fans and New York strata suffered between the cracks of the neighborhood’s cobblestone streets. We love the Gansevoort for its old basement spa lounge and a rooftop that reaches the open air heights of our home base the Standard in sticky summer weather. This photo was taken from the rooftop facing the old Port Authority building, and our favorite place to work.
