The public spaces are what really bring people to the Hudson Hotel, which is notorious for having the smallest hotel rooms short of a shared bunk-bed situation. There is a lovely indoor park and outdoor terrace, along with a quiet library and an uplit neon floor-type club with enough pretension to fuel half of Fashion Week. We liked the outdoor terrace the best, for the company of our favorite SF friends and a well-blended mojito.

Cipriani Dolci – Grand Central Station: We’re deeply smitten with Grand Central Station and the gorgeous Main Concourse. Our favorite stops at GC include the Transit Museum Store and the subterranean mezzanine food hall, but our top scenario to wind away an hour is over a martini (Ketel, twist) at this lovely bar overlooking an afternoon’s worth of transportation logistics.
