Every hotel should greet you with a cupcake, as the Sheraton Chelsea did when we checked in last winter. Certain hotel amenities (water bottles, internet) can often veer into price gouging, but at the Sheraton Chelsea they are free. Add to it free breakfast and the wonderful first floor Mexican restaurant that delivers room service, and you just might make it through your last business trip of the year.

Our favorite stops at GC include the Transit Museum Store and the subterranean mezzanine food hall, but our top scenario to wind away an hour is over a martini (Ketel, twist) at this lovely bar overlooking an afternoon’s worth of transportation logistics.
